Woman accused of criminal damage to an 'intersex inclusive progress' pride flag
Clare B Dimyon MBE has been accused of criminal damage with a ‘transphobic’ aggravating factor in relation to an incident in late July or early August 2023. Ms Dimyon was said to have removed an 'intersex inclusive progress pride' flag printed onto an aluminium composite board which was hung by the door of Stanford Avenue Methodist Church in Brighton. Ms Dimyon allegedly cut out the triangular section leaving only the rainbow part; and replaced the board at the church the other way up.
Case status
The case was heard on 4th February 2024 at Brighton Law court. Ms Dimyon was found guilty of criminal damage but not guilty of the 'transphobic' aggravating factor proposed by CPS. She has been ordered to pay costs of £180 to the church to pay for the edited billboard and £180 to CPS - which was requested by CPS at £650.
