Overview
Maya Forstater did not have her contract renewed at the think tank Center for Global Development (CGD) in March 2019. She had posted several tweets questioning government plans for gender self ID. Maya took CGD to an employment tribunal and eventually prevailed after an initial loss, an appeal that gave us ‘worthy of respect in a democratic society (WORIADS) and a complete merits hearing (essentially a retrial of fact).
Having prevailed, the current hearing is for compensation or injury to feelings, aggravated damages, lost earnings and future earnings. The panel is the same as the previous hearing.
