Tribunal Tweets is a volunteer collective of citizen reporters. We cover legal proceedings that relate to freedom of speech and belief; primarily employment tribunals and similar of those who speak up. It is apparent that our work will go on for years and we have decided to take steps to establish a community interest company with transparent governance as a foundation for our work.
We have enabled paid subscriptions on our Substack. There are no ‘privileges’ or inducements envisioned for paid subscribers. It is wholly voluntary to subscribe. A subscription to our Substack is not tax deductible (even in the UK).
Proceeds will be used to establish our community interest company, provide further digital security and storage, formalise our status as press including a legal opinion on the permissibility of live tweeting and credential our reporters.
Our volunteer citizen reporters will be able to claim reasonable incremental expenses along guidelines similar to those used by the civil service. See our expense policy here.
Finally, we continue our promise not to spam the mailboxes of subscribers. No more than 4 newsletters per year (Sentinel) plus up to 4 ad hoc emails on major cases or thematic reviews such as our collection of open letters on the sex and gender debate here and our cases covered here.
Thank you.
